The title for this blog is drawn from real life. I live, quite literally, on the edge of the city. A few hundred unhurried steps take me out of the city and into the wilderness . . . or the city open space at least. The title is also, however, a metaphor – a metaphor for living on the fringe of things, away from the hustle and bustle of commerce and business, away from where things are happening and people are doing things.
